Prepare yourself ladies; last week was London Fashion Week, and we’ve a roundup of the hottest fashion picks to hit the catwalk from the last seven days. Whether you caught much style action or not, Look Again HQ are here to tell you what trends you need to watch out for in SS14.
From sweet sporty looks to super-sleek monochrome numbers, this weeks’ post is packed with top tips to keep you ahead of the fashion curve. Interested? Here are just a few of our fashion favourites from LFW.
Sports Luxe
Who says you can’t look sporty without staying stylish? Not Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders! Although his catwalk chic isn’t something you’d ordinarily catch at the gym, his collection at LFW did show elements of ‘sports luxe,’ which we absolutely love.
Think rich satin materials combined with sporty cuts; a relaxed, stylish spin on a design that’s conventionally quite disciplined. At the same time, LFW attendees also spotted Saunders’ trademark bold prints. Showing colour blocking at its finest, it’s safe to say that shoppers shouldn’t shy away from this style for SS14.
Taking inspiration from this trend, we recommend the gorgeous Colour Block T-Shirt. A staple tee that transcends seasonal trends, you’ll be more than ready for SS14 with this vibrant t-shirt. No lady’s wardrobe is complete without a burst of colour, so be sure to check it out!
Sophisticated Boho
Sounds like a contradiction, but it’s true; one of the hottest trends to watch out for in SS14 is sophisticated boho. Whilst the bohemian look is usually defined by its laidback, floaty feel; in this instance designers have decided to bring a more sophisticated, elegant, and mature side to boho. This was most evident within Mathew Williamson’s collection.
His SS14 range still maintained the light, fresh ‘cheery prints’ that we all know and love about bohemian. However at the same time, his clothes were more focused on formal wear rather than ‘festival chic.’
In the spirit of sophisticated boho, we chose this stunning Floral Print Skater Dress as one of our very own fashion favourites. A cute sleeveless number that can flatter any figure; it’s a dress that’s great for all year round. During the winter simply wear with tights and patent courts, and come SS14 lose the tights and switch to pretty sandals. It’s as easy as that!
Monochrome
Last but not least, we had to mention monochrome. Erdem’s sleek black and white combinations definitely stood out for us at LFW. Inspired by preppy, traditional school uniforms; Erdem’s collection was filled with smart, stylish blazers and silk rugby shirts. To recreate a similar look, check out our Draped Blazer by AX Paris. It’s a style essential that’s perfect for both work and play.
