Celeb Style: London Fashion Week 2013
September saw the return of London Fashion Week, and it’s needless to say that the SS14 collection was bigger and better than ever. With a whole host of gorgeous trends taking to the catwalk, we didn’t know where to start first! However, one aspect which we loved and can’t ignore is the celebrity glamour that flavoured the event.
The week was packed with the world’s hottest A-listers, including the likes of Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Alexa Chung. Interested to know who stole the show in celeb fashion stakes? Here are the ladies that caught our eye.
Alexa Chung
We couldn’t discuss LFW without mentioning indie fashionista Alexa Chung. With a stylish flair that rivals that of those on the catwalk, it’s safe to say that her choice of outfits didn’t disappoint.
In typically autumn fashion, Chung sported a dark, rich midnight blue number that complemented her skin tone beautifully. However, her choice of attire did cause a little controversy for its cut. The press questioned whether her habit of breaking boundaries may have gone too far, as she opted for a gothic, loop-ripped hemline; but we loved it!
Taking inspiration from such rock, alternative and indie vibes, we chose our very own Sweetheart Bodycon Dress by Lipsy. Like Chung’s Christopher Kane dress, its colour and texture screams luxury. Paired with opaque tights, suede ankle boots and chunky gold jewellery; this outfit would be perfect for the work Christmas party.
Victoria Beckham
As we predicted, Victoria Beckham’s choice of wardrobe had heads turning at London Fashion Week. Showcasing clothes from her own SS14 collection, fashion lovers caught a glimpse of what can be expected from her next range.
Her outfits were dominated by monochrome, minimalism and sharp, fitted cuts. Spotted wearing a black trouser suit one day, followed by a white shirt and tailored board shorts the next, it’s clear that androgyny is set to be big in Beckham’s SS14 collection.
In spirit of the former Spice Girls appreciation of smart, sophisticated style, we chose our Peplum Bodycon Dress by The Pretty Dress Company. A great addition to any wardrobe, this LBD would work well with patent courts and an oversized clutch this autumn.
Kate Moss
Last but not least, the catwalk queen herself, Kate Moss also made her mark at September’s LFW. Fusing trends that you wouldn’t ordinarily see together, Moss was caught wearing cute, casual animal print trousers with a grey tee and a tailored black blazer. If you fancy recreating the look, you can bring a touch of animal print to your wardrobe with Look Again’s stunning Animal Print Dress. It’s definitely a style staple for the upcoming months.
