Sleep Tight
A good night’s sleep can make you smarter and slimmer, who knew?!
People who increased from 6 to 7/8 hours per night put on 2.5kg less weight over a 6 year period (best diet ever!). Research also shows that losing even 1 hour of sleep can lower your IQ by 1 point the next day. As if a good night’s sleep needed to be more appealing!
If you’re still struggling to get a good night’s rest (and find yourself pressing snooze far too many times), here’s some helpful tips:
- Commit to 16 weeks of daily moderate exercise. Doing so meant middle-ages to older people could asleep about 15 minutes earlier and sleep for approximately 45 minutes longer.
- Get an upgrade. Studies show that a new bed improves the quality of sleep.
- Replacing an uncomfortable bed is associated with an increase of 42 minutes sleep.
- The bigger the better… 50% of couples said that they would buy a bigger bed, as studies showed that couples sleep better with more space.
