450g minced beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 large clove garlic, chopped
1 medium carrot, diced
1 stick of celery, diced
6 button mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp tomato puree
1 tin chopped tomatoes
100ml beef stock
1 bay leaf
10g dried mixed herbs or alternatively you can use fresh herbs

All of the ingredients for this recipe can be added directly into the slow cooker bowl; alternatively you can brown the mince in a suitable frying pan beforehand.
Mix all the ingredients well.
Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 6-7 hours. Perfect served with buttery pasta and some freshly grated Parmesan.
