Beat the Christmas blues!
No one wants Christmas blues, but sadly a lot of us tend to feel down after Christmas. The fun festive Christmas decorations are gone, the weather has taken a turn for the worst, home alone is no longer on TV and the social calendar seems to be empty.
Although this is so, you can turn your mood around with a few easy steps! Who says December is the only time where you are happy and cheerful? A good way to be happy after Christmas is to plan ahead. Plan for something in January, whether this is a small weekend away, a shopping trip or simply meeting up with friends. This will allow your excitement from Christmas to carry on once the big day is over!
Get active! You may not feel like exercising after December, but it is well known that exercising does release endorphins, which helps to boost your mood naturally. This is a good method to not only work off those treats that were eaten over the festive period, but to also reduce stress and increase that good feeling. After all it’s a New Year, it’s a New You.
Lastly, be smart with your money! Christmas can squeeze a lot out of us but if you’re smart with your money you’ll plan for the sales! Everyone loves a good sale, and you know what they say, shopping is the best form of therapy. So if you were the host over Christmas and you feel like you deserve to treat yourself, go ahead! We know it’s not easy being the host with all the cooking, entertaining the guests and making sure there’s enough deserts to go around!
