• Position your vine in the sunniest sheltered area of the garden for best results, preferably against a south-facing wall
• When planting in the ground, dig over the soil, break up any compaction & enrich it with compost or fertiliser
• Plant on the weed-free ground
• In their first year, water grapevines well & regularly, especially if there is a prolonged dry spell
• The main pruning time is November - December, while training, pinching out new shoots & fruit thinning, take place in spring & summer
• Supplied as a single, established plant in a 17 cm pot, approx. 60-90 cm tall, ready for planting out or potting on
• Plant vines against walls & fences 1.2 m (4 ft) apart & 12.5 cm (9 in) away from the wall
• Plant vines in the open 1.2-1.5 m (4-5 ft) apart in rows 1.5-1.8 m (5-6 ft) apart
• Mulch in spring when the soil is moist, to suppress weeds, placing stones or gravel, 5-7.5 cm (2-3 in) deep around the base of the plants
